This is exactly the same as your Corvette's or Camaro's throttle response.īefore CoW BOOSTER your throttle hardly did anything below 50% and tried to "catch up" above 50% taking away "RESOLUTION". Realize that the volume still starts at 0 and still goes to FULL VOLUME just like before, but the difference here is that each increment makes much more of a change to the volume and therefore the "RESOLUTION" is FAR LESS and simply makes it more difficult to achieve the level of accuracy or control that you had when the volume knob turned 360 deg. Now, let's change things so that your volume knob only rotates from 0 to 180 degrees or only HALF of one full rotation. You would have a nice "GRADIENT" or "RESOLUTION" whereby you could very accurately control the throttle and each increment would make very small changes so you could dial in EXACTLY the amount of volume you wanted. Let's assume that from silence to full volume your knob rotates 360 degrees stop to stop. In other words, l et's imagine that you have a stereo at home with a conventional Volume knob. What this does is change your "THROTTLE RESOLUTION". You'll also notice that the throttle pedal hardly makes the throttle open in the area below 50 or 60% and then tries to "catch up" between 60 and 100% at times getting ahead of the pedal angle near the top. When the driver of any vehicle makes a "TORQUE REQUEST", CoW BOOSTER responds with a "commanded throttle angle" that which is greater than what was programmed by the manufacturer.ĪGAIN, CoW BOOSTER RESTORES some of what was missing when the vehicle was purchased new. In "calibrator lingo", when you step on the gas pedal you're actually making a "TORQUE REQUEST" to the computer. When these vehicles were manufactured, the calibrators "TRICKED" you by making the throttle response FAR LESS RESPONSIVE than it would be if you had a conventional mechanical throttle cable.ĬoW BOOSTER does an AMAZING JOB of somewhat RESTORING the throttle response in the area of the lower accelerator pedal angles. We have discovered that the C6 Corvette and the 2010 CAMARO AUTOMATIC cars have a slightly more aggressive throttle response than their stick shift brothers. In the C6 AUTOMATICS (A6) cars, pressing the TC button or entering "OFF", "COMP", "ALL OFF" modes don't change with respect to the THROTTLE response. The graphs below represent the throttle curves on a C6 Corvette, the 2010 Camaro curves are almost identical. Yes, its done via the computer, although its not a tune in and on itself.
